Shipping - Product Protection

Canadian Favourites Inc. offers a proven methodology, eliminating the requirement to ship certain products via Next Day Air to US States with the exception of Alaska and Hawaii.

Special “re-useable” Freezer Packs are utilized to protect “Chocolate” products from melting via Ground transportation.

Freezer Packs also provide refrigeration of other products to keep them cool. Examples: Strubbs Real Kosher Dills, Tenderflake Lard, Maple Dale Cheese Curds, Imperial Cold Pack Cheddar Cheese and Schneider's Pepperettes.

Product Protection is mandatory for all southern US States year round.

Northern US States in summer months.

If not purchased, this mandatory protection will automatically be added to your order.

Freezer Packs have a protection value to 6 calendar days sufficient to match UPS Ground delivery standards to most major cities and towns in all 48 States.

The small charge for Product Protection is composed of five elements: (i) cost of re-usable freezer pack (ii) shipping weight of the freezer pack (iii) white Styrofoam chips (iv) dimensional weight considerations due to a larger shipping carton being required and finally (v) UPS fee for residential delivery signature.

UPS will deliver to US residences without requirement of a signature and place the parcel in a safe location and leave a notification card if you are not home. Our concern with this delivery method is the placement of your carton outside your residence subjecting the parcel to the elements and high temperatures for the balance of the day and even additional days if you are away.

We have tested this service since early 2009 and all deliveries of the above products were received without incident. The Product Protection fee is certainly a best value compared to remittance of Next Day Air Charges.

Best Before Date

All products will be delivered to you prior to their expiry of their shelf life date, with the exception of international orders shipped via Surface.

Condition of Product(s)

Certain pre-packaged products, while protected for shipping purposes, may encounter challenges such as breaking. Such products are typically cookies and crackers. These products are packaged within bubble-wrap and centered within the shipping carton to minimize any impact to the exterior of the carton. Such efforts, on occasion, may not enable the safe arrival of all or part of your order. Canadian Favourites Inc. will not assume responsibility for such challenges. Air Shipment would be recommended alternative.

All products sold are sealed by the original manufacturer. All products are inspected at time of packing for shipment. In the event that an item received is not sealed, please refrain from use and notify Canadian Favourites Inc.

Manufacturers, from time to time, may change the appearance of their packaging for marketing reasons. Such changes may or may not include a change to the ingredients of their products. Canadian Favourties Inc. will not be responsible for such changes by the manufacturer. Most manufacturers maintain websites with product information. We encourage you to visit their websites to remain well informed about your favourite Canadian taste of home.

General Returns Policy
If you have received the wrong product by mistake please return it unopened and we will exchange it or issue a refund. Shipping & Handling charges will not be refunded on returns accepted for any other reason.

Canadian Personal Shopper Services

Placement of an order with Canadian Favourites Inc. is an engagement of purchasing services as your Canadian personal shopper. Purchasing services are inclusive of providing quotations with estimated shipping charges. Engagement of services is effective with the placement of an order via http://www.canadianfavourites.com/.

USA Individual orders are restricted to $ 150.00.

Please remember that all orders are subject to an Ontario sales tax rate of 8 %.

Canadian federal Goods and Services Tax (GST ) is exempt on all US and international orders.

By placing an order, you agree to accept a $ 25.00 US Funds fee, per order, for “personal shopping services”, regardless if the order is completed or not completed by Canadian Favourites Inc. We have no control over the availability of any product advertised by a particular retailer. Each order may contain products from more than one retailer.

Every effort will be undertaken to inspect the product at time of purchase to ensure the integrity of the product. By placing an order, you agree that Canadian Favourites Inc. is not responsible for any manufacturers defect. Such defects may not be known until packaging is opened.

Every effort will be undertaken to secure your purchase inclusive of a sale item with uncertain availability. Retailers may have limited quantities of sale products or the item popularity may promptly empty retailer shelves.

By placing an order, you agree that Canadian Favourites Inc. is not responsible for any warranty or guarantee advertised by the manufacturer or their retailer.

Canadian retail prices are in Canadian dollars. The retail price noted on the Canadian retail website will be re-invoiced plus applicable sales taxes in US Funds. Fair Exchange Rates will be applied.

Personal shopping services typically assign a $ 30.00 to $ 40.00 per hour service fee, plus mileage. Our pricing is intended to limit the variable service fee to a fixed engagement fee regardless of the amount of time required to complete your purchase.

Canadian Personal Shopper Services - Returns

Prior to purchase from any particular Canadian retailer, you have reviewed their specific return policy along with terms and conditions.

Please ensure that your return order is received by Canadian Favourites Inc. prior to any final date expressed by the applicable retailer in order to receive your credit.

As your purchasing agent, Canadian Favourites Inc. will accept and return your purchase to the original retailer, subject to the retailer’s applicable return policy. By returning an order or any portion thereof, you agree to accept a $ 20.00 US Funds fee for “personal return services”. All proceeds will be applied to your original credit card particulars.
