Canada's Pure Saskatoon Jam 375ml (600g)
Canada's Pure Saskatoon Jam 375ml Remember the Malkins Jams!
Ingredients: Saskatoon Berries, Glucose, Sugar, Pectin and Citric Acid
ED Smith purchased the manufacturer and changed that famous original recipe to add corn syrup. Some folks who knew the value of the Malkins products have managed to revert back to the original recipe and have packaged that great product once again under the brand name "Canada's".
Looking for Malkins Jams - now available under the Canada's Jam label.
Malkin's Jam got its name from the company founder, W.H. Malkin. The company was founded in 1896 in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. W.H. also owned a chain of stores called Malkin's Shop-Easy Foods. His grocery stores were known for their high-quality foods and reasonable prices.
W.H. Malkin was popular with the people and was voted in as mayor of Vancouver in 1929. You can find many of the landmarks in and around Vancouver named after him. His company was highly successful, being popular with both the rich and the poor, because of the quality and selection of foods carried, as well as the service and prices. He produced Malkin's Jam to sell both in his own stores, as well as other independent stores. The W.H. Malkin Company was later amalgamated into it's competitor, Kelly Douglas.
The W.H. Malkin Company no longer exists, but its name lives on in Malkin's Jam, and in the chain of stores named after him. The exceptional taste of Malkin's Jam has American hunters, anglers and campers looking for it on both sides of the border. U.S. Tourists and retailers have known about famous Canadian jams for over 70 years.
Reportedly a thicker jam than the traditional jams you will find in your local grocery.
This is a an original Canadian jam that will bring back those memories!
