Features
- The company was started in 1957 by Gujarati Brahmin Laxmishanker G. Pathak after he arrived in London from Kenya with only 5 in his pocket with his wife, four sons and two daughters. He could not get authentic Indian food locally.
- From his own kitchen at his home in Queens Crescent, Kentish Town, London, NW5 he and his wife Santagaury started making authentic Indian foods to sell to the local Indian immigrant population, and in 1958 opened a shop at 134 Drummond Street, London NW1 selling Indian goods and groceries.
